A juvenile is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday evening in east Columbia.
Police responded around 5:16 p.m. to the 5700 block of Canaveral Drive for reports of shots fired.
Officers found the juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound and detained another juvenile nearby.
The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
A large emergency response, including police, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters and an ambulance, was seen in the area.
A car was also found crashed into a nearby home, Police say the investigation is ongoing.
