The Montgomery Fire Protection District responded to a vehicle fire on I-70 on Wednesday night just after 10 p.m.
A press release states that first responders found the vehicle fully involved with flames and that explosions were coming from it, and that sparks flying from the car ignited nearby grass in the median.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the car fire while a tanker put out the median’s flames.
Montgomery fire personnel were assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Central Dispatch, the Montgomery County Ambulance District and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
