Eight mid-Missouri men are facing a total of 17 federal charges related to alleged child sex crimes.
The indictments stem from a June undercover operation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office targeting potential online predators. Investigators posed as minors and advertised escort services online.
Those indicted include former Missouri Department of Revenue general counsel Daniel Follett, University of Missouri graduate assistant Rifat Hasan Apurba, and Columbia attorney Ethan Deimeke.
The other defendants are from Columbia, Moberly, Plattsburg and Jefferson City.
All eight men are being held without bond in the Boone County Jail.
