Former Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing November 10 on a felony stealing charge.
According to court documents, Wilson is accused of stealing and cashing a five-thousand-dollar check while serving as sheriff.
The check was labeled “Sponsor fee 25 Randolph” and was cashed at Wilson’s own bank.
Wilson told investigators the check was a “thank you” after doing business with someone, and that his name was on the check.
Wilson pleaded not guilty and turned himself in to Moberly police in July.
The case is separate from a 2025 audit that found misuse of county funds.
