The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help with information leading to the death of 19 year old Antonio Jefferson in Mexico yesterday afternoon. [Tuesday]
In a press conference, Sheriff Matt Oller says evidence at the scene does not make it clear what happened.
He reports Jefferson can be seen on video at Walmart in Mexico at 11:31.
Around noon, he was found laying in the road on county road 913. A car was crashed into a tree, on fire.
His injuries were inconsistent with a car crash.
The autopsy revealed he died of blood loss.
Investigators with the Major Case Squad are working to gather information on his whereabouts during the half hour in between.
Oller also reports there was a weapon found at the scene, but could not release what type of weapon, or if Jefferson’s injuries were caused by the weapon.
