A hazmat team responded to the state Capitol this morning [Thursday] after a senator received an envelope with a green powder inside.
The substance has been identified as a cancer causing pesticide according to a tweet from Senator Maria Chappelle Nadal.
Chappelle Nadal was the recipient of the suspicious envelope. Several staff members came into contact with it. According to a press release from the Missouri Senate there is no threat to the public or anyone at the Capitol.
