Columbia Police Officers Association President Call Out City Manager Over Officers Pay

The president of the Columbia Police Officers’ Association is calling out Columbia City Manager Mike Matthes over officers pay.

Alan Mitchell told the Columbia City Council at last (Monday) nights meeting that officers are leaving the department for better pay and working conditions.

Mitchell said City Manager Mike Mathes either needs to come up with a plan and start doing something to fix Columbia’s financial situation, or bring in somebody else with new ideas.

According to the Columbia Police Officers Association the city only offered its officers a raise of .25 cents per hour and would not budge.
