The Mexico City Council met and honored the newly promoted and newly hired public safety officers and approved a new rate for sewer usage.
Public Safety Chief Susan Rockett announced the promotions of Lt. Stuart Thompson, Lt. Jason Saddie, Sgt. Chad McDonald, Sgt. Andrew Nitcher and Detective Alma Hayes. Rockett introduced Public Safety Officer Robert Taylor and Sue Qualls.
A sewer rate adjustment was approved to help fund the daily operations and maintenance of equipment, to provide payment of voter approved revenue bonds, and for capital outlays such as plant structures and collection systems.
A three percent increase has been approved. Customers using approximately 5000 gallons of water will see their bill increase from around $39.58 to $40.79 per month.
