Mexico Public School staff along with community leaders gathered at Emmons Hall today [Friday] to hear Dr. Ruby Payne discuss social breakdown and how it impacts students and teachers.
Dr. Payne says classrooms are losing teachers rapidly because of a lack of tools to handle challenging students.
Dr. Payne offered strategies to help reduce anger, anxiety, avoidance and to help build trust between teachers and students.
