The Mexico Department of Public Safety is participating in a statewide effort to reduce speed on Missouri roads.
The Change Your Speed Change The Ending campaign is coordinated by the Missouri Department of Transportation and will be conducted this weekend, February 11th through 13th.
According to MoDot, 404 people were killed in Missouri as a result of accidents involving at least one speeding driver or driving too fast for conditions during 2020.
Preliminary numbers for 2021 indicate 365 people were killed in similar crashes in 2021.
