Today (Tuesday) marked the grand opening for the new Kentucky Fried Chicken at 302 West Jackson in Mexico.
The Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at 9 this morning. A large crowd also gathered outside the business early this morning. The owner of the new KFC Hector Gomez handed out meal cards to the first 50 people in line. The meal cards allowed the anxious patrons to receive one free meal a week at the KFC for the next year. Gomez explains why he chose Mexico as a location for the restaurant.
Gomez and his business partner are also opening a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Fulton. It is expected to be completed within the next three months.
