Mexico Board of Education Meeting Held

Contracts for several new teachers and professional services are now approved following last (Tuesday) night’s meeting on the Mexico Board of Education.

The dual credit agreement with Moberly Area Community College was also approved as were the contracts for the full- and part-time School Resource Officers.

There was a brief discussion about turning the part-time SRO position into a full-time position with additional discussion to be had later.

The Mexico Masonic Lodge has donated their building and property at 708 West Boulevard to the school district and according to Superintendent Melissa Chastain, the building will be used by district maintenance personnel as they were running out of space in their current location.

The meeting adjourned just before 6:15.
