The Lady Thunderbirds of North Callaway only needed three innings to pull off a victory last (Wednesday) night in Wellsville. They blanked the Lady Tigers 21 to nothing and remain undefeated in Eastern Missouri Conference play.
Last night’s “last out” for the Cardinals turned out to be the hit that brought in two runs that brought the Cards to a 6-5 victory over the Washington Nationals. Tommy Edman thought he had made the final out, instead, Nationals’ outfielder Alex Call just missed it and the hit drove in two runs. The Cardinals became the first team this season to win a game after trailing by four or more runs entering the ninth inning.
In Kansas City a tactical sacrifice fly in the ninth by Salvador Perez took the Kansas City Royals to a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians.
