A graduate of Mexico High School is advancing to the final round of the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition in Des Moines.
Kylie Yeast will compete again Friday for her chance to win one of 16 regional scholarships and possibly one of 2 national scholarships.
The foundation was established by Ryan, best known for playing Granny on the Beverly Hillbillies, before her death in 1973.
The competition is part of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
