Keri Poehlman will be the new school counselor at Davis H. Hart Career Center.
According to a release from the Mexico School District she is thrilled to be a part of the team working with the career and technical programs and also to work with students from all of the sending schools.
Keri comes to us from Montgomery County R-II High School where she has been a school counselor for the last three years. Prior to this, she was a school counselor for 13 years in Hermann with the Gasconade County R-I School District.
Keri Poehlman started her school counselor career over 20 years ago in the Los Angeles Unified School District at San Fernando High School. Keri earned her Master of Science in Counseling & Guidance from California Lutheran University. As a native of Michigan, she earned her Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University. Both of Keri’s parents were skilled trades workers so she values career technical education. Keri relocated to Montgomery County in 2006 with her husband and two sons to raise the boys near their family century farm. When Keri is not working, she enjoys taking her dog for nature hikes and watching her boys play music in church. Keri’s passion is to help each student to achieve their highest academic and personal potential as they transition to their chosen career pathway.
