The Mexico Board of Education now has a new president after reorganizing tonight (Tuesday).
The board certified the results of the April 4th election and recognized retiring board member Kara Clovis; retiring board member Kelli Teel was unable to attend the meeting.
The oath of office was then administered to the three newly-elected board members: Todd Yager, Mathew Pilger, and Jessica Johnson Ekern.
Once seated, the members elected Todd Yager as president, Keith Louder as vice-president, Nicole Jahn as treasurer, Bethany Collins as secretary, and Mathew Pilger as the Missouri School Boards Association delegate with Jessica Johnson Ekern as the alternate.
The board also approved a number of professional and teacher contracts as well as a bid to remodel the Cosmetology Salon at Davis H. Hart Career Center.
Eugene Field Elementary will have a new principal next year after the board approved Scott Daly for the position while Robin Friedrich will be the new assistant principal for Eugene Field.
