TIGERS BEEF UP LINES
The University of Missouri football team got a major recruiting boost earlier today (Saturday) when not one but two transfers announced they are headed to Columbia to play football this Fall. One player for the offensive line and one for the defensive line.
Guard Cam’Ron Johnson committed to the Tigers via Twitter. Johnson was considered one of the better offensive linemen in the transfer portal, and reunites with offensive line coach Brandon Jones at Missouri.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder earned first-team All-AAC honors after starting 13 games last season. He only allowed one sack and had a pass-blocking grade of 79.4 and a run-blocking grade of 63.3, according to PFF College. He is expected to move to center for the Tigers.
Jackson State defensive end Nyles Gaddy, has also committed to the Tigers.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder was an All-Southwestern Athletic Conference first-team selection in 2022, helping the Tigers go 12-1 and win the SWAC title. Gaddy recorded 40 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and two bat downs in 12 games.
Both players figure to earn immediate playing time for Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz’s 2023 ball club.
