Mexico head coach Tony Senor says “This was a great showing for Mexico at the right time of year. Brendan only dropped 2 games the entire tournament against his team Declan in the finals. Declan took care of business beating a Fulton opponent that we struggled with at times last season. Declan also beat Lutheran St. Charles’ #1 ranked player to advance to the Sectional Round. Brendan and Declan both are Sectional Qualifers. They both will play for a chance to be in the MSHSAA Boys Tennis State Championships in Springfield, Missouri.
Camden Williams and Zeven Ruiz won big time against NCMC Rivals Fulton first round. The semis were a different story but the keep on fighting to make the match interesting. They both played well together and we might use them in the team district format as a Doubles team.”
Next competition is Team Districts with #2 Seed Mexico hosting Lutheran St. Charles High School on 05/09 at 3:30 PM at Fairground Netplex Park.
