Mexico School Board Will Choose From Five Applicants To Fill Vacant Seat

A total of five candidates have applied for a vacant seat on the Mexico School District Board of Education.

The deadline for the applications was last (Tuesday) night at 5pm.

On the final day two applications were received.

One from Lennette Brown and the other from Heather DeMint.

DeMint grew up in Mexico and graduated from Mexico High School and previously served on the board.

Lennette Brown also applied yesterday (Tuesday).

Along with DeMint and Brown, Matthew Robnett, Michelle Cobb Stephens, and Erick Richardson have applied for the vacant seat.

The vacancy was created when Marci Orr resigned, on June 20, 2023 in order to accept a job with the Mexico School District to become the director of communications.

The Mexico School Board will now choose one of the five candidates to fill the vacant seat which will be done during an open session.
