Mexico School Board Special Session To Accept Resignation Of Board President Todd Yager

The Mexico Board of Education will host a special session tonight (Tuesday) after Board President Todd Yager turned in his letter of resignation last week.

This comes after the board appointed Michelle Cobb Stephens to a vacant seat for Marci Orr’s unexpired term on July 27.

Orr accepted a job as the Mexico School District Communications Director.

Yager was elected to a second term in April, and owns multiple businesses in the Mexico area.

Yager says this was a tough decision for him personally.

The special session takes place tonight (Tuesday) at 5:30pm at Central Office.

Yager currently serves as Board President and there will be an election of officers during the Special Session and a discussion about the vacancy process.
