Calls for service:
Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service yesterday (Tuesday), August 22, 2023:
- Suspicious person on South Washington.
- Property damage at West Breckenridge.
- Trespassing on East Love and at West Monroe.
- Animal abuse or neglect on Hassen.
- Attempted burglary reported at South Alabama/Promenade.
- Child abuse or neglect on South Clark.
- Unwanted subject at 629 East Liberty.
- Threats at 3076 South Clark.
- Domestic verbal incident on North Washington.
Car accidents:
A two-car accident at 4655 East Liberty on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1:33pm. According to the Mexico Public Safety Department accident report it happened when a 2021 Volvo Semi driven by 67-year-old Daniel Meler of Columbia was stopped at the driveway of 4655 East Liberty to turn right. A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Jazmin Byrne of Mexico pulled up next to the semi. When the semi started to turn the trailer struck the side of Byrne’s vehicle dragging it into the ditch. No injuries were reported.
