The Mexico High School Lady Bulldogs softball team brought home a first place finish from the California Turf War over the weekend.
The Lady Bulldogs started off red-hot in game 1 on Saturday with a 10-0 shut out of Osage.
Emma Cunningham earned the win for Mexico, striking out two.
Maddy Feger, Brooke Teel, and Karlee Sefrit collected two hits each respectively for the Lady Bulldogs.
Game two took place on Sunday and was another Mexico win this time 7-6 over the California Pintos.
Jordyn Thurman doubled and scored in the victory.
Emma Cunningham notched another victory on the mound, striking out three.
Maddy Feger, Karlee Sefrit and Landri Teel each collected one hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
Mexico took out St. Elizabeth 7-6 in the third and final game to earn championship status at the California Turf War.
Hannah Loyd collected three hits in four at bats.
Karlee Sefrit doubled. Aleigha Henderson singled and drove in two runs.
Emma Cunningham earned her third victory of the weekend allowing just one walk.
Mexico improved to 12-8 on the season.
