Vanessa Lay and Sarah Mahnken with First State Community Bank (FSCB) offered an $800 donation to Mexico School District today (Tuesday), to help curb student lunch debt.

The Mexico School District says FSCB is an avid supporter of the district and has offered the donation for the last three years.

Sarah shared, “We believe in making an impact in our community. When our committee sat down to choose a recipient, we felt it was important for us to support the students in our community and also provide resources for food insecurity.”

The donation was accepted by Joyce Fenner, Mexico Schools Food Services Director.

The donation will go towards the $2600 student lunch debt at the high-school level. Students in grades K-8 receive free meals through a state grant.
