No damage is being reported after a 3 inch fitting broke at the Mexico High School during Parent/Teacher conferences on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

According to an email from Mexico School District Communications Director Marci Orr sent out this (Wednesday) morning the water was in multipurpose room and at lobby at the sports complex and the water main was immediately shut off.

Gary Filbert Court did not have any water damage, as the school maintenance and custodial team worked to stop the break and clean up as quickly as possible.

It is unknown how long it will take to fix the issue as the maintenance director is locating the part, that will likely have to be ordered.

The district says building operations and student classes will continue today (Wednesday), as usual with the exception of the bathrooms in the sports complex and locker room are out of order until the break is repaired.
