The Mexico High School Lady Bulldogs softball team hung tough with state ranked Fulton losing 2-1 last (Tuesday) night.
Both teams were strong in the circle.
Mexico’s starting pitcher Aleigha Henderson recorded 15 outs.
Fulton took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Mexico tied things up in the top of the fifth.
Then Fulton scored a run in the sixth to take the lead for good. Emma Cunningham led the Lady Bulldogs offense with two hits and an RBI in three at bats.
It was final game of the regular season.
The Lady Bulldogs start District play on Thursday night, October 12, as a 6 seed in Class 3 District 4 bracket with a record of 16-11.
The will play in Moberly when they face 3rd seeded Father Tolton who has a record of 24-12.
The winner of the Mexico/Father Tolton game advances to the next round to play either Fulton or Moberly.
