The Mexico Bulldogs lost 13-0 to the Moberly Spartans tonight (Friday) at Hawthorne Heights.
It was a defensive struggle.
Moberly scored the only points of the first half.
The Spartans put together a 7-play, 61-yard drive that was capped off by a two-yard rushing touchdown by George St. Clair.
Moberly missed the extra point.
The Spartans had another opportunity to score before halftime however, quarterback Jackson Engel fumbled in the end zone and Mexico would recover the ball.
The Bulldogs special teams also recovered a muffed punt in the second quarter.
The Spartans scored their second touchdown late in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.


Following the game Kaitlin Rose was crowned the 2023 Homecoming Queen.
She is the daughter of Daren and Toni Rose.
Kaitlin was escorted by Emille Scanavino, the son of Anthony and Michelle Scanavino.
Kaitlin has been involved in theater for 11 years and was involved in volleyball and student council for 3 years.
She is a member of The National Honors Society, Astra Club, FCA, Theater Club, Speech and Debate, and Art Club. Kaitlin is also in her fourth year of Noteworthy and Chamber Choir.
Kaitlin plans on attending Stephens College to get a degree in Musical Theater to become a children’s director.
