A few voters in Public Water District #1 or #2 in Audrain County went to the polls yesterday (Tuesday), November 7, 2023 to decide a ballot question.
The question on the ballot was in regard to merging the two districts.
It passed 79 votes to 43.
Over nine hundred thousand dollars in scholarship money will be awarded to Mexico High School seniors at a ceremony this morning. No injuries reported following a fire on Saturday afternoon in the 1000 block of West Street. According to Mexico Public Safety the resident had fallen asleep while food was cooking in the oven, and woke up to find a grease fire. The fire was put out and only the stove and oven suffered damage.
