Mexico Public Safety Department Report 11/13/2023

Arrests:

Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 35-year-old Sarah R. Horch on Thursday, November 9, for two Audrain County warrants.

55-year-old James D. Varner was arrested Thursday, November 9, for a Violation of an Order of Protection.

21-year-old Tristen L. Young was arrested Saturday, November 11th, for an Audrain County warrant and a Mexico city warrant.

42-year-old Richard L. Matthews was arrested on Saturday, November 11, for Fourth Degree Domestic Assault.

Calls for service:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the Veterans Day Holiday weekend starting on Thursday, November 9:

  • Shop lifting on North Western.
  • Domestic physical incident at West Boulevard.
  • Suspicious person at Lakeview Park.
  • Vehicle break-in on North Jefferson.
  • Harassment at East Breckenridge.
  • Property damage on West Pearson.
  • Public Safety went to the following calls on Friday, November 10:
  • Domestic verbal incident at the South Jefferson apartment building and on West Whitley and at South Missouri.
  • Stealing or theft at the South Jefferson apartment building.
  • Suspicious person on West Monroe.
  • Trespassing at Carson.

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls on Saturday, November 11:

  • Domestic verbal incident at the Vance Road apartment building.
  • Stealing or theft on Latney and at 3001 South Clark.
  • Harassment on Rock Springs Drive.
  • Suspicious person at West Monroe and on South Abat/Liberty and at East Lafayette.
  • Shots fired reported on North Calhoun/Pleasant.

Public safety went to these calls on Sunday, November 12:

  • Suicidal subject on South Jefferson.
  • Trash dumping at Carson.
  • Suspicious person on East Promenade and at MacFarlane.
  • Careless and imprudent driver on East Holt.
  • Domestic verbal incident at 4820 South Clark.
  • Stealing or theft on West Breckenridge.

 

Car accidents:

A one-car accident on Thursday, November 9, 2023 on the Highway 54 bypass. According to the Mexico Public Safety Department accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 22-year-old William Stafford of Laddonia was traveling towards East Liberty from Highway 54 when a deer ran out in front of his vehicle. The vehicle struck deer. No injuries were reported.

 

A two-car accident in the 3800 block of South Clark around 10:40am on Saturday, November 10, 2023. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Ermin Rizvanvic of St. Louis was turning into the Green Releaf parking lot without utilizing a blinker and as the vehicle came to an sudden stop it was it from behind by a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Ashley Ragsdale of Mexico. No injuries were reported.

A two-car-accident at around 11:03 am on Saturday, November 10, 2023. According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Steve Meyer slowed to turn into the Green Releaf parking lot and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Dylan Lee of Mexico. No injuries were reported.
