Audrain County Prosecutors File Charges Against Two Men After Incident In Mexico

Two men in Audrain County have been charged with robbery following an incident in November in Mexico.
According to court records and reporting from KRCG 13, on November 18, 2023, Mexico Public Safety officers responded to North Jefferson Street for a robbery call.
Officers said they spoke with one victim who said he had given a ride to 26-year-old Da’Jon Gully and 24-year-old Demetrius Lea.
He said when he got to the area of West Maple Street, near North Jefferson Street, Gully got out, pointed a gun at him, and told him to give him everything he had.
Another victim said Lea was in the backseat and when she turned around, she saw that he was pointing a gun at the back of her head.
The male victim said he gave Gully and Lea his backpack which had $2,000 in cash and miscellaneous documents inside.
The female victim said the men also took her bag which had $3,000 to $4,000 cash in it.
On January 29th, Audrain County prosecutors charged both Gully and Lea each with two counts of First-Degree Robbery and two counts of Armed Criminal Action, all felonies.
Gully is in the Audrain County Jail and held without bond.
Lea is in the Boone County Jail on a $25,000 bond on December 22, 2023, after being charged with assault in Boone County on December 5, 2023.
