Missing University Of Missouri Student’s Body Found In River

The body of missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain has been recovered.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Strain’s body was found in the river about eight miles from downtown Nashville.

According to Nashville Police Chief John Drake a river worker discovered Strain’s body just before 7:30am on Friday, March 22, 2024.

When they removed an object, Strain’s body surfaced.

A medical examiner confirmed it to be Strain’s body, and his family has been notified.

Police said no foul-play related trauma was observed, and an autopsy is pending.

Strain had been missing for two weeks and was last seen the night of March 8th, after he was asked to leave Luke’s 32 Bridge Food and Drink on Broadway while on a trip for his fraternity spring formal.

Searches, by foot, boat and helicopter had been ongoing since Strain’s disappearance.
