Mexico High Academic Team Sweetens Community With Bake Sale

The Mexico High Academic Team took a big step toward sending students to Nationals after holding a bake sale at Bucky’s Sit or Get in Mexico on Saturday, March 31, 2024.

The team raised $2,000 on the day.

Head coach Dale Schenewerk says between a 50/50 raffle and their penny per point pledge and the bake sale they have raised around $4,500.

Schenewerk says they will likely need a minimum of $7,500 with a goal of taking 10 players to Nationals on an A team and B Team.

Nationals will be held in Reston, Virginia on June 8-9.

The biggest fundraiser for the Mexico High Academic Team is coming up on May 11th during the annual trivia night which will be held at the Mexico High School Sports Complex.

The Mexico High Academic team is currently ranked 17th in the nation.
