A unique sports signing took place at the Mexico High School sports complex on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Mexico High School senior Emile Scanavino signed his letter of intent to play soccer at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland next year.
Emile is a talented goal keeper for the Mexico Bulldogs soccer team and also a member of the Mexico Bulldogs wrestling team.
During his time at the Mexico High School, Emile has made the Honor Roll and was a Distinguished Scholar for multiple years.
A 2022 All-Region First Team Varsity Soccer selection.
A 2022 All-District First Team Varsity Soccer selection.
A 2022 All-Conference Second Team Varsity Soccer selection.
Emile ranks in the top 20 in the state of Missouri for saves in a season and saves per game.
He was also on the 2023 All-Region First Team and on the 2023 All-Conference Second Team.
Emile has 622 career saves in soccer.
While playing soccer at St. Mary’s, Emile will major in chemical engineering.
Emile is the son of Michelle and Anthony Scanavino.
