Arrests:
Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 54-year-old Darrel G. Rife for an Audrain County warrant on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Calls for service:
Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the weekend starting on Friday, May 3, 2024:
- Suspicious person at Northeast Park.
- Suspicious vehicle on South Clark.
- Threats at Fairsite Drive.
- Careless and imprudent driver on South Muldrow/Liberty.
- Shop lifting at 4820 South Clark.
Public Safety responded to the following calls on Saturday, May 4, 2024:
- Domestic physical incident on West Vine.
- Natural gas odor at 1719 South Clark.
- Child abuse or neglect on Carrico.
- Stealing or theft at South Morris and at 4820 South Clark.
- Harassment on West Promenade.
Mexico Public Safety went to the following calls on Sunday, May 5, 2024:
- Intoxicated person driving at the Marine Drive apartment building.
- Stealing or theft on South Olive and at Emmons.
- Suspicious vehicle at 203 East Liberty and on South Clark.
- Trespassing at West Jackson.
- Unwanted subject on Eagle Drive.
Car accidents:
No injuries reported in a traffic accident at 17 Rock Springs on Friday, May 3, 2024.
According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Jordan Lakey of Mexico backed into a vehicle that was parked on the street.
No injuries reported in an accident involving a Mexico School bus on Friday, May 3, 2024.
According to the Mexico Public Safety accident report it happened when a the Mexico School bus driven by 40-year-old Robert Minnie of Mexico was turning onto Wade and Whitley.
The bus crashed into the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Libbie Bush of Mexico.
The Mexico School District sent out an email to parents stating it was a minor traffic incident and no students were injured.
As a precautionary measure, all students were transferred from Bus 84 to another bus and then taken to school.
