The Mexico High School baseball team lost 4-3 to the Fulton Hornets on the road last on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Mexico was up 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Ethan Burt doubled, scoring two runs giving to give the Hornets the walk-off victory.

Drew DeMint said see you later to tater to center field.

Brady Fox was the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs going six innings and striking out four batters.

Sam Ryan and Drew DeMint each collected two hits for Mexico.

The Mexico High School boys tennis team will be competing for a District Championship for a fourth consecutive year after defeating St. Charles West in the District Semifinals on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

The Mexico High School girls soccer team shutout Canton 3-0. It was Senior Night at Christ Hotop Field at the Mexico High School.

Katie Gooch, Elizabeth Joiner, Jamilet Medina-Lucas, Keyla Hernandez-Ramirez, Lotte VanGrinsven, Maite Esteban-Arevalo were honored.

Claire Hudson scored two goals.

And Freshman Aunna Bessolo scored here first varsity goal.

Up next the Lady Bulldogs will start play in the Class 2 District 3 tournament at St. Francis Borgia against Christian at 2pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the New York Mets 7-5 at Busch Stadium on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Not only did the Cardinals lose the game, but they also lost veteran catcher Wilson Contreras.

He was hit on the left forearm by a swing from slugger J.D. Martinez.

Contreras suffered a fractured left forearm that will likely cause him to miss anywhere from six to eight weeks.

The Kansas City Royals lost 6-5 to the Milwaukee Brewers at the K.

Royals closer James McArthur gave up a three-run home run, and blew his second save in three days at Kauffman Stadium.

The St. Louis Blues removed the interim tag from Drew Bannister on Tuesday, May 7, and named him to the full-time role as head coach.

Bannister signed a two-year contract.

Bannister replaced Craig Berube when the 2019 Stanley Cup-winning coach was fired in December.

The Blues went 30-19-5 after Bannister took over and finished six points out of a playoff spot.
