Mexico High School Junior Alice Eggen Recognized With Heart Of Gold Award From Columbia College

Mexico High School’s-Alice Eggen (11th grade) was surprised with a presentation from Columbia College for the “Cougar Heart of Gold” recognition.

Columbia College Partners in Education committee recognized one High School Junior from MHS with an engraved plaque and a Chromebook.

Alice’s faculty nomination stated, “Alice is the very definition of kindness and empathy.

She is incredibly hard-working.

She values community engagement and takes seriously her responsibilities in the Boy Scouts, MHS Student Council and other forms of community service.

She has been selected as a participant for Girls State to represent the community of Mexico.

Alice perfectly matches the criteria for the Heart of Gold award.”

This award celebrates students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate outstanding character, empathy, and resilience in their daily lives.
