Two women are dead following a seven-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer that shut down traffic on I-70 in Columbia during the afternoon hours of Monday, August 5, 2024.
According to the Columbia Police Department the driver and passenger of a U-Haul were killed in the crash.
Others were injured, though the department did not know how many or the extent of their injuries.
According to the Columbia Police Department, the tractor-trailer was in the westbound passing lane on I-70 near the Stadium Boulevard exit when it hit a vehicle in the driving lane, went over the median and hit a U-Haul truck head-on in the eastbound lanes.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another at a hospital.
