No serious injuries reported after a truck was hit by a train in Mexico during the morning hours of Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the crash just before 11:30 on Saturday morning at the railroad crossing on Vandiver Drive.
Responding personnel found the 43-year-old Marcus Richardson of Columbia was crossing the tracks in a 2005 Sterling commercial truck.
Richardson did not see a train approaching from the east and train collided with the back portion of the truck.
The truck was later towed from the scene due to significant damage.
According to the press release from Mexico Public Safety, the train did not derail, and there were no leaks of any material.
