MoDOT Highway Worker Killed After Being Hit By Semi-Truck In Pettis County

A highway worker is dead after he was hit by a semi-truck in Pettis County on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol accident report it happened in the 17000 block of Route O when a 2005 Peterbilt 379, driven by 18-year-old Brandon Knox of Hughesville was heading north on Route O when it struck a pedestrian, 60-year-old Jay Bone of Smithton.

According to a post on X from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Bone was a worker for MoDOT and was on the job when the crash happened.

Bone was pronounced dead at the scene
