The Mexico Bulldogs lost to a tough Hannibal Pirates team 40-0 in Hannibal on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Mexico kept it close in the first quarter with tremendous defensive efforts from junior defensive lineman Leighton Hilderman and senior linebacker Grant Van Horn.
Hilderman and Van Horn flew around the field and pressured Hannibal quarterback Waylon Anders into several quick throws.
Van Horn ended up with one solo tackle for the game.
Hilderman also recorded one solo tackle in the game.
The Bulldogs defense won the turnover battle against the Pirates.
Mexico fumbled the ball once.
While Hannibal threw an interception and fumbled the ball.
Bulldogs junior Korbyn Dorsey had the interception.
Mexico would also recover a Hannibal fumble.
Offensively Charlie Fisher had three receptions for 41 yards.
Fisher was also 1-for-2 passing for 11 yards.
Kaden Benne was 1-for-6 passing and threw for 51 yards.
Charlie Fisher led the Bulldogs rushing attack with 35 yards.
Korbyn Dorsey had 20 yards on the night.
Mexico falls to 2-3 on the year and 1-1 in the North Central Missouri Conference.
