Mexico Bulldogs Football Defeats Fulton In 134th Highway 54 Bowl

The Mexico Bulldogs won their 13th consecutive Highway 54 Bowl, 21-14 over the Fulton Hornets on Friday, October 4, 2024.

It was the 134th Highway 54 Bowl.

With the win Mexico leads the all-time series over Fulton that started in 1920, 65-62 with 6 ties

Fulton scored first with a two-yard rushing touchdown with .18 seconds left in the first quarter.

Mexico would tie the game on a two-yard score from running back Korbyn Dorsey at the 9:12 mark in the second quarter.

The score was tied 7-7 at halftime.

The Bulldogs would take their first lead of the game in the third quarter on a 2-yard rushing touchdown from Drew DeMint.

Mexico would go up by two scores with 6:19 remaining in the fourth quarter on a nine-yard rushing touchdown from Drew DeMint.

Fulton would score on a one-yard quarterback sneak from Jaden Galbreath.

Fulton would go for an onside kick, however, Mexico would recover to preserve the win.

Drew DeMint finished with 81 yards and two touchdowns.

Peyton Hoover recorded 53 yards.

Kaden Benne put up 46 yards.

And Korbyn Dorsey put up 34 yards with a touchdown.

Mexico evened their record at 3-3.

Fulton fell to 0-5. Up next Mexico will host Kirksville on Friday, October 11, 2024.
