Columbia Man Dies From Injuries In Moped Accident

A Columbia man has died from injuries related to a moped crash on West Broadway earlier this month.

According to the Columbia Police Department 60-year-old David Porter, died at a local hospital on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Columbia Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a moped on West Broadway near Heather Lane on November 7th.

According to the news release the initial investigation showed that a moped ridden by Porter was traveling westbound on West Broadway.

The moped crossed into the passing lane and collided with a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old woman of Columbia.

Porter was ejected from the moped and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
