Mexico Lady Bulldogs Defeat New Haven In First Round Of Montgomery County Tournament
The Mexico Lady Bulldogs defeated the New Haven Lady Shamrocks 48 to 36 tonight (Monday) at the Montgomery County Middle School to advance to the winners bracket in round two of the Montgomery County Tournament.
Claire Hudson helped the Lady Bulldogs to a 33-23 lead at half with five made three pointers.
New Haven closed to within two points with 6:05 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Mexico girls persevered and went on to win by double digits.
Claire Hudson led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 17 points.
Grace Hudson finished with 12 points.
Freshman Alyssa Miller and Scottie Smith had 7 points and 6 points respectively.
Hannah Loyd put up 3 points.
And Kenley Jones had 2 points.
The Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 2-1 on the season.
Up next the Mexico girls face the number 1 seeded Clopton on Wednesday, December 4th at 6pm.
