The Community R-VI Lady Trojans basketball team lost 46-43 to Marion County on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Head coach Bob Curtis says “Hard one to swallow as we led for 29 and a half minutes for the Lady Mustangs to get hot and steal a win at the end.
We dribble into traffic late causing a turnover lay-up the other way.
We only recorded 5 pts in the 3rd quarter after playing really well in the other 3 quarters.
We are working on our turnovers and free-throw % which are keys to our success.
We missed 11 free-throws with 6 of those misses coming in the last 4 minutes.
This team is making progress and could easily be 5-0 as we lost by 4 pts. in the season opener then won three in a row until the heartbreaking loss to the Lady Mustangs last night.
Junior standouts Peyton Beamer and Jocelyn Curtis combined for 34 of the teams 43.
They consistently showed this kind of offensive output over the summer so we are hoping that becomes the norm over the coming months.”
