Community R6 Lady Trojans defeated Wellsville-Middletown 59-46 in the first round of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament held at the Madison High School on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025.
The Lady Trojans were lead by Kat Meyer who made three-three’s in the 3rd quarter.
Peyton Beamer finished with 14 points, and hit four-three’s in the game and had four assists.
Jocelyn Curtis got into double digits with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Aaliyah Welch contributed 12 points and had six rebounds.
And Chloe Johnson rounded out the scoring with five points.
Community head coach Bob Curtis says “Very proud of the girls and how they played in the first round of Districts.
One of our best offensive games of the season with 59 pts. and 7 3’s hit.
We didn’t take a lot of bad shots or turn it over too much.
We knew they would try to limit our possessions and we had to score each time down the floor.
Wellsville plays a tough schedule and these seniors played in the district championship 2 years ago against us.
Senior standout Keigan Hall from Wellsville is a great player and had 25 pts. in the game.
We countered that with 4 girls in double figures and solid rebounding to give them just one shot.”
