South Shelby High School Girls Basketball Earns District Championship Over Highland
The South Shelby Ladybirds advanced to the State Tournament with a 39-19 victory over the Highland Lady Cougars in the Class 3 District 6 Championship Game at the Highland High School on Saturday, Mar. 1, 2025.
South Shelby and Highland battled back-and-forth in the first half.
The Ladybirds would take a three point lead at the half.
South Shelby would use smothering defense to hold Highland to just six points in the second half to secure the win.
South Shelby’s Hannah Gaines led all scorers with 13 points.
South Shelby will meet Principia in Sectional Round of the State Tournament at the Principia High School on Tuesday March 4, 2025.
