The following press release was sent from the Missouri Military Academy.
MEXICO, MO — Missouri Military Academy (MMA) will host its annual Scouting America Merit Badge University on Saturday, March 22, 2025. In 2024, approximately 600 Scouts, leaders and family members from seven states attended the event.
Scout families are expected to begin arriving on Friday evening, March 21.
As part of the experience, many Scout troops also camp out on campus.
Activities will conclude on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
Scout troops are encouraged to camp out on MMA’s back campus on Friday and Saturday evenings.
During the annual MMA Merit Badge University, Scouts — including cadets of MMA’s Scout Troop 1889 — complete badges, supported by MMA staff and faculty and local/regional Scout volunteers.
Scouts engage in events across MMA’s 288-acre campus to earn the badges, from the rappel tower to the indoor swimming pool to the rifle range to the stables.
For more than 100 years, both Missouri Military Academy (MMA) and Scouting America have been helping young men reach their full potential through a curriculum of academic and leadership skills and by imparting values of duty, honor and selfless service.
