Mexico Schools Present President’s Award

Mexico Public Schools honored 16 outstanding fifth-grade students during the President’s Award for Educational Excellence Ceremony, held yesterday (May 5) at Mexico High School Emmons Hall.

Students from both Hawthorne Elementary and Eugene Field Elementary were recognized for their exceptional academic achievement, strong character, and commitment to learning.

Assistant Superintendent Julie Lower delivered a message, applauding the students’ dedication while recognizing the role that teachers and families play in their success. “This award is more than a certificate,” Lower said. “It’s a celebration of hard work, consistency, and character. It takes curiosity, courage, and perseverance, and none of it happens alone. We’re so proud of what these students have achieved and excited to see what lies ahead for them.”
