Jefferson City woman trafficking drugs
A 35-year-old Jefferson City woman has been charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop on Wednesday.
Chelsea Steel was pulled over in the 600 block of Madison Street at 12:48 p.m, by a Jefferson City Police officer after they received a tip from the MUSTANG Drug Task Force that Steele was driving from Columbia to deliver fentanyl to people in Jefferson City.
While conducting a search of the vehicle, an officer alledgedly found three wrapped bags, containing 1.5 grams of a grayish substance that tested positive for Fentanyl.
Steele has been charged with Second Degree Trafficking of Drugs and Driving While Revoked or Suspended.
She was being held without bond in the Cole County Jail.
