A Chesterfield woman is facing two felony charges after leading state police on a chaotic chase Saturday along Highway 63 in Randolph County.
34-year-old Fredreika Davis, was charged with aggravated fleeing and third-degree assault of a special victim and is jailed on a $30,000 bond. An arraignment occurred Monday, with a bond review set for 10 a.m. Friday, December 29.
Authorities say a reckless, northbound driver in a Chevrolet Spark with expired plates weaved in and out near County Road 2710 around 4:35 p.m.
Davis allegedly turned around, drove into the northbound lanes, and briefly made eye contact with an officer as she passed in the opposite direction.
The pursuit continued with another U-turn, sending her northbound in the correct lane, then westbound in eastbound lanes of Highway 24, running a red light and ending at a dead end.
Davis allegedly refused to unlock her door, prompting deputies to break a window to take her into custody.
Court documents also allege she spit in a trooper’s eye during detention.
