Council status hearing for two Jefferson City residents

Two Jefferson City residents are facing serious charges after a shooting incident on the evening of January 6th on East Dunklin Street.

Police say the gunfire broke out around 6:11 p.m. during a dispute.

Fortunately, no one was hit, though the home sustained damage including a shattered glass door and bullet holes in the wall and bricks.

Twenty-five-year-old Armion McCann and twenty-nine-year-old Dustee Mathis face multiple charges, including armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child, and tampering with evidence.

Both suspects remain in the Cole County Jail without bond and are set for counsel status hearings this afternoon at two.
